Meet the author
My name is Kathleen McAfee, and I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree of Public Policy at Pepperdine University- School of Public Policy in Malibu, California, USA. My specializations are in Economics and International Relations. I received my undergraduate degree in Political Science in May 2009 from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, USA. Although I am a fulltime student working on a focused curriculum, I enjoy participating in community volunteer events and campus organizations. I am site leader for the non-profit organization Play Just Like You that promotes cultural awareness among children in impoverished communities in the Greater Los Angeles Area. In addition, I serve on the Executive Officer Board for Pepperdine University’s Women in Public Policy as Vice President, assisting in organizing and participating in volunteer events, lectures, and other initiatives that focus on women’s rights and gender equality. In the future, I hope to work either in the public or private sector on issues relating to community development in developing countries.
